New Zealand’s payment industry is rife with opportunities and Indue is not alone in exploring the possibilities in this growth market.
Visa Checkout launched in New Zealand in December with a number of major retailers participating in this new service, designed to remove the barriers to online transactions.
As part of our growth strategy, Indue recently appointed well-respected New Zealand industry figure Roger Sowry to our New Zealand Advisory Board. Indue is also the sixth affiliate member of the New Zealand Bankers’ Association, which highlights our commitment to this market.
New Zealand joins Australia, Brazil, Singapore, Malaysia, Hong Kong, Colombia and the United Arab Emirates on the list of countries where Visa Checkout is available, with more than 250,000 merchants now on-board globally.
HOYTS, Flight Centre, Event Cinemas and the Movember Foundation are the first merchants in New Zealand to offer Visa Checkout with New Zealand’s largest retailer, The Warehouse Group, set to launch Visa Checkout in four of its retail businesses this year.
A survey recently commissioned by Visa showed more than half of respondents had stopped an online transaction because it was a hassle to fill in information, such as billing and shipping details.
Visa Checkout allows any debit, credit or prepaid card to be used via a desktop, mobile device or within a mobile app. Once enrolled, shoppers simply provide their username and password to complete the payment process without the need to leave the merchant’s website.
Visa Checkout also supports increased functionality for repeat customers. The interface remembers the user experience and Touch ID iOS sign-on capability, which means consumers can authenticate the payment with their fingerprint.
Last year, New Zealand payments industry body Payments New Zealand launched a new set of standards for the growing mobile payments space. The ‘Mobile Device Rules & Standards‘, which Indue supports, aims to protect local businesses and consumers whilst improving the quality of service in the space.
Indue has a unique ability to help our customers unlock opportunities and looks forward to introducing innovative payment solutions into the New Zealand financial services sector.
