Join Visa’s Principal Economist, Simon Baptist to explore Asia Pacific’s new economic reality.
Asia Pacific is set for another year of uncertainty and change in 2025. Complex supply chains, already a big driver of regional growth, will almost certainly be rocked by new US trade policies, and cross-border activity will have to be more agile than ever. Meanwhile, ongoing policy stimulus in Australia and NZ’s biggest trading partner, China, will affect commodity prices and exports. Business travel and tourism will continue to grow, but along new corridors, while there will also be opportunities from growing numbers of migrants. Falling interest rates should give some relief to battered Australasian consumers, and we will share Visa’s expectations for what this means for spending and saving in the year ahead, as well as the latest patterns in spending behaviour, sectoral growth and e-commerce.
This exclusive virtual event hosted by Indue’s Chief Financial Officer Adrian Buckley has been designed to provide you with an update on key economic and geopolitical trends which will impact Australian consumers, including:
Australian and global economic and geopolitical themes for the year ahead
Trends shaping consumer spend – region and segment-based insights
Cross-border spending – where we are and where we’re heading in 2025
